Fall 2009 /2008
In general, the Study Guide for each exam consists of the Chapter Exercises at the end of each chapter, the homework assignments for the material covered, and any extra questions that I will add below (at least 1 week before an exam).
This Exam, which is take-home, was handed out in lecture (Tues, 11/17/09).
Here is the link for the SPSS file with the promised data: Exam 3 SPSS Data File
Remember: click on the link, then save the data to your H-drive; then open SPSS and once it is opened, open the saved data file.
Remember to double-check your numbers for the other problems for which you must enter your own data! Incorrect answers are often due to incorrect data entry.
The answers to the Exam are due by 11 am on Friday, 11/20/09. The late penalty will begin at 11:01 (5% per day late, so 5 points off...).
Many of the answers should be written directly on the exam
The APA-style results sections (plus the graphs for them) should be typed
Attach the APA-style Results sections to the printed exam OR hand in the printed exam and e-mail the Results sections directly to Dr. J
The Homework Assignments are the best study guides for this exam. Use your lecture notes and the How-To Guides!

Curve on Exam 2: Re-write the Results Section (Problem # 31) and turn that in to Dr. Jackson on or before 11/21/08. You may earn up to 18 points minus what you received on the first version. For example, if you earned 8 points for Problem 31 on the Exam and you turn in an excellent results section receiving 17.5 points, you would receive an additional (17.5 - 8) = 9.5 points as the "curve" for Exam 2. These points will be added on to the Exam 2 grade.
The in-class part of the exam (50%) will be part objective (multiple choice, true-false, and matching) and part essay. It is scheduled for Tues 10:15 - 12:15, but see the other options below.
We will do the in-class portion as an open-notes, open-book test on WebCT in the computer lab (RU 348). The times that are possible to take it follow. The 11 am lab has priority for the Wed 2:45 time slot and the 12 pm Lab has priority for the Wed at 10:15 slot, but all are welcome to choose their own time. If you need help on the Take-home portion (or have other questions), please come to one of the scheduled times to see me.

For optimal performance: read the chapters, outline the chapters and/or create flashcards of terms, understand all of the homework assignments, and answer all of the questions on the Study Guide provided here (be sure you use the lecture notes as well as the textbook to do this).
